Rigney Racing acquired LEGADEMA (Arrogate) for $590,000 at the 2022 Keeneland September, the fourth most-expensive of her late sire's 61 final-crop youngsters sold (66 ring) last year and the second-priciest of his fillies. Rigney gave $600,000 for a daughter of Peggy May (Lemon Drop Kid) at the same sale. A half-sister to SP Cursor (Quality Road), Legadema is out of a winning half-sister to former 'TDN Rising Star' and Grade I winner Tara's Tango (Unbridled's Song)–the dam of GSW Capensis (Tapit); GISW Visionaire (Grand Slam);  GSW Scarlet Fusion (Curlin); GSW/MGISP Scarlet Strike (Smart Strike); and Madison's Luna (Tapit), who carried the Rigney colors to victory in the 2018 GIII Hutcheson S. Among the competition is Witham Thoroughbreds' Miranda (Free Drop Billy), whose dual Grade I-placed dam Izarra (Distorted Humor) is a half-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Classic winner Fort Larned (E Dubai) and GSW Walkabout (Stroll), the dam of Grade III winner Walkathon (Twirling Candy). The filly's third dam is two-time champion Bayakoa (Arg). TJCIS PPs

DADDY JUSTIFY (Justify), a $300,000 Keeneland September graduate, is out Group 3 winner Flattering (Ire), a full-sister to Love (Ire), winner of the 2019 G1 Moyglare Stud S. and by wide margins victorious in the COVID-delayed G1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas and G1 Investec Oaks and the G1 Yorkshire Oaks later that summer. The last of her seven career victories came in the G1 Prince of Wales's S. at Royal Ascot in 2021. Flattering is also kin to multiple Group 2 winner Lucky Kristale (GB) (Lucky Story), the dam of this year's G2 Prix Niel third Bravais (GB) (Frankel {GB}); and Group 3 winner Peach Tree (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). This is also the family of GSW/MG1SP Vin de Garde (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) and his half-brother, this year's G1 Satsuki Sho hero and G1 Tokyo Yushun runner-up Sol Oriens (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}). The cross of Justify over Galileo is already responsible for Group 1-winning Cartier 2-year-old of the year City of Troy and other graded winners Buchu and Red Riding Hood (Ire). TJCIS PPs
